A Physician's Guide to Where You Will Be
Treated Like a Slave with Malpractice Premiums

The people have spoken very clearly and do not see the need to lower your malpractice costs. My father, who is now a Pennsylvania retired OB/GYN, was the top of his class in all medical areas, and yet in trying to treat the poor in Philadelphia was relentlessly sued. As were many of his fine academic colleagues I came to know. He used to work months just to be allowed to do his job. He was given many awards, wrote a number of books and was awarded the Fellow status of his specialty. He was no hacker.

Think of the school loans and your child's college tuition. Would you give over 3-4 months salary just to be able to do your job? In later years, my father used savings to be able to work since the premiums were so massive and he wanted to spend more time with patients. Pennsylvania is one of the most profound anti-doctor states in the US, and the only thing allowing them to temporarily survive is the young graduates from its medical schools and the poor insight of the population. They seem to think doctors live on a golf course. My father never played golf till he retired. Some folks are so clueless.

I also see many docs refusing to do many types of procedures, and the population is blind as to the massive loss in care they are getting. Some get 3-minute evaluations to pay for malpractice premiums, and offer no call coverage other than the ER deep in the center areas of Philadelphia. And if you do not pay the slave premiums, the medical board lawyers take your liscence.

Recall you have the basketball. Lawyers, lawyer judges and juries can keep their legal briefs and stupid rulings, and you can keep your massive talents. Go where you are wanted and valued.

Below are the states doing very little to fix your slavery premium disaster. They are making your colleagues retire early or abandon practices associated with high risk due to the cost or because the insurance does not exist anymore.

In Florida, the trial lawyer fools are seeking to remove the presence of all major surgeon's by passing a three settlements and you lose your liscense law. Most doctors doing challenging medicine with very ill or elderly pateints are not going to be able to save them. They just will not play the game. They will do no challenging surgery they can avoid. Floridians will drive hundreds of miles to maybe see a specialist after waiting many months. Why should any doctor stay in Florida, and over years have no liscence and then likely lose their ability to practice in any state? One chief of Obstetrics had so many lawsuits in Philadelphia he had drawers filled with them. But he would have patients arrive on cocaine with no prenatal care as they were literally giving birth.

People always need doctors. Many states love doctors and you will be able to do your job outside of a court room, instead of making a plaintiff attorney rich.
