Errors in the Use of FISH Testing

Babesia and Bartonella: FISH Testing at IGeneX & TLab

Positive FISH to negative FISH is not a cure. It is only a drop in numbers.

A couple of expert Lyme disease doctors and scientists have taught that FISH testing is the way to determine if someone is positive or negative for Babesia and Bartonella.

No.

Look at this Bartonella slide, which will be in my cutting-edge Bartonella textbook (manuscript). This is not a FISH test. Look at the black-and-white slide below. The Bartonella is obvious, and one wonders if this was cultured for 2-6 weeks, as is usually required per Dr. Breitschwerdt, to see Bartonella under a microscope.

A FISH test uses a probe to bind to one of these infections, causing it to light up. But it is not 30 organisms in one smear and then zero in another smear later after some treatment.

No.

A patient achieving a negative FISH result is making progress, but we have found evidence of Babesia and Bartonella even when patients are told they are “cured.”
