Here is a Lyme spirochete just beginning to form a ball, which is called a "cyst," and is supposed to protect the bacteria against antibiotics.
A cyst form has emerged perfectly clear from the long corkscrew form. We so no sign of decay, but a perfectly formed protective cyst which defeats almost all antibiotics.
