A respected psychology journal made these summary statements regarding depression and Fibromyalgia
- Depression is the most common psychiatric comorbidity in fibromyalgia.
- Life experience may be up to between 25% and 45% (Häuser et al., 2015; Kleykamp et al., 2021). Or even greater.
- When FM and depression are present you are living much worse: worse physical and mental health, lower quality of life, and it is harder to follow treatments which are less effective
WE WOULD SAY GREAT FM doctors are missing things we find that aid recovery (Alciati et al., 2012; Alok et al., 2011; Lange and Petermann, 2010). - The causes of fibromyalgia, specifically depression in FM are multiple and complex. We would add 70 causes in our depression book.
Key Point: We do not feel the extensive smart research conducted on FM, identifies the main causes of solid solutions.
