We have posted a list of 23 human Bartonella species that infect humans, approved by a top world expert. And we routinely find results with only genus [every possible species] testing, or both henselae and quintana are negative, with other species found. We are not stuck in 1990 and 1991, when they were discovered 35 years ago [!]
Why Mention This Study Tested Just One Species?
If one species was so often positive, testing others may have increased the percent positive.

Results
Bartonella. henselae positive antibodies in humans was 46%.
Females (46.6%) positive.
Males (41.7%) positive
Cat owners were 51.4%
A history of cat contact 42.9%.
Rural regions were 79.5% positive vs. cities with 24.6%.
*Some estimate Egypt has 100 million cats, with many living as stray or feral cats. The USA has 100–150 million cats, with both pets and stray or feral cats counted. But the size of the USA is roughly 10x the area of Egypt. Such density may cause a higher percent than other nations listed in Table__. Antibodies do not equal active illness, but since it is in so many miles of human body “tubing” paired with 60 seconds of medical school, the percent infected that have pathology is unknown.
