Most Lyme Doctors Are Highly Focused On Lyme Disease.

They do not realize Bartonella is more common than Lyme.

This Is Not Genus Testing But Merely A Couple Of Species.

  • Germany: ~30% (among healthy adults)
  • Poland: 25.8% up to 46.4% (Rates were highly variable by region; the 46.4% rate was found in a recent study of a human population in Eastern Poland).
  • Slovakia: 23.5% for B. henselae and 24.8% for B. quintana.
  • Greece: 19.8% (among healthy adults).
  • China: ~14% in healthy blood donors. However, in groups considered “high risk”—specifically patients arriving at clinics after dog bites—that exposure rate jumped to 27%.
  • Spain: 13.5% for B. henselae and 11% for B. quintana (measured in the general population of Southern Spain).
  • United States: Rates heavily depend on the demographic. While general population rates are lower, studies tracking patients who already have Lyme disease show that 15% to 33% of Lyme patients are also seropositive for B. henselae (acting as a coinfection).
  • Eastern Mediterranean Region (WHO Data): Across the combined nations in this region, the average human seroprevalence was tracked at roughly 13.7%.

What This Data Tells Clinical Specialists

When mainstream medicine views Bartonella as a rare disease, they are usually referring to acute, hospitalized cases of things like cat-scratch fever. However, these global seroprevalence numbers show that human exposure to the bacteria is actually incredibly common—often hovering between 15% and 30% of the general public.

For specialists treating chronic illness, this high global exposure rate supports their argument: billions of people are exposed to Bartonella, and while a healthy immune system may fight it off, the bacteria has ample opportunity to establish chronic, stealth infections in people whose immune systems are compromised or distracted by other pathogens like Lyme disease.

I will have more clarity and data on other nations in my The Diagnosis and Treatment of Bartonella
