I was asked by a large entrepreneur, "What are my treatments... for all biting insect infections!
I mentioned 12 books and 400 Facebook posts as an introduction. But I did think, maybe this is like asking a woman what is it like being a woman? After so many decades treating so many emerging infections.
He is smart guy who was overwhelmed with babysitting two preteens and asked a question that would never have a five minute answer. Maybe he has one or more of these infections since a couple family members do.
Why mention this?
Treating Bartonella is about 900 pages in my Bartonella book draft. Huge topic. So let me just start you thinking. What I am writing here is for high school students. Basic. Simple. It is not an attempt to talk over you.
Bartonella Treatment Basics
1. Bartonella was really discovered in 1990, and in my research, we now know that 23 species that infect humans exist. Dr. Edward Breitschwerdt of Galaxy Labs has confirmed this.
Why mention it?
We are still learning how to kill it. So large government medical agencies, who have no top thought leaders are often useless, yet they post treatments anyway. Many self-proclaimed “Bartonella experts” are lecturing physicians as they offer useless information, most of it over 25 years old and incorrect. We know that Bartonella increases IL-10 and drops TNF-alpha which hides it.
So, our approach is to kill some Bartonella to get a positive antibody test. How? See our Herbs and Essential Oil Book November 2023 for many options.
2. Treat with one, two or three treatments?
Y. Zhang and Monica Embers showed in the lab that more treatments are more effective. For example, azithromycin can kill Bartonella (also see Schaller, Medscape General Medicine. 2007). But adding methylene blue, or rifampin, or both, is more effective than any alone. So, the basic point is 3 to 4 treatments are better than one. And my experience over the last 20 years is that higher doses of each make each more effective.
3. How Long Do You Treat?
Current practice is to treat almost all infections from 5 to 30 days. TB and leprosy would be treatmented for years since they grow slowly. Many biting insect infections reproduce very slowly so they should be treated longer.
4. Do Not Forget to Treat the Biofilm!
Currently, we have had the #1 Biofilm book in print. Some were expecting more stories or interesting experiences using each option, but the point of the book was to look at possible treatments.
For over 20 years we have used volatile essential oils in 2 enteric empty capsules to make them easy on the stomach and prevent burping them. Take them with food.
We have good evidence that significant doses of three essential oils significantly dissolve Bartonella's biofilm. (See our Bartonella Textbook).
5. No other Treatment?
Our exciting Depression Solutions Book will be published November 2025. It mentions many solutions that can be applied to killing Bartonella.
In 2006, nobody wrote about the depression, panic, anxiety, insomnia and irritability that Bartonella caused until I wrote the first article on these in Medscape General Medicine (2007). And my first Bartonella book in 2008 because there were absolutely no books on this common infection. Little attention was paid to in that decade.
Now healers who are current with 2024/2025 biting insect infections discuss it often. And the number of research papers is rising every year.
Stay tuned for more help. And a cutting-edge textbook out on Bartonella in the coming seasons.
