Bartonella is not typically diagnosed by smear of blood drops.
Bartonella infections, such as those caused by Bartonella henselae (responsible for cat scratch fever) or Bartonella bacilliformis, are not typically diagnosed using a blood smear. Instead, diagnosis is more commonly achieved through serological tests, PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests, or culture methods.
Blood smears can sometimes identify specific organisms, but they are not the standard method for diagnosing Bartonella.
