Your body will kill both? Are you fond of jumping off bridges?
Years ago, I was teaching martial arts. OK. Many many years ago, I was teaching karate. If someone could only dedicate seven weeks to learn, I declined to teach them anything. You will just have a fantasy you know something about self-defense after ten hours. You will know nothing.
If the only thing left in your body was EITHER Babesia or Bartonella might your body hold it in check? Possible. Slightly possible. Would I risk it? No. I think it is suicidal. Of course, if you have been doing treatment for a long time, it is OK to take off a few weeks. Are you totally burned out? Take off two months. But I think that is different than saying I am moving on and ending treatment with one or two infections still in your body.
When you are first infected the body attacks the infections. The infections have up to 26 ways of defeating your immune system. Right at this exact minute you are covered in bacteria. A trillion? I lost count after 874 billion.
The point is Lyme, Babesia and Bartonella have ways to evade and beat your immune system. Tired of your doctor? Tell her why. Do not like the reply? Get a second opinion. Sometimes talking to someone like me from the comfort of your living room and hearing you are getting good care allows you to end your final chapter with your physician. Or I might make a few suggestions. She might consider them. Or have a good reason why you are not ready for that treatment.
