For many years, enlarging a picture of a bite narrows down the type of biting insect. Bartonella is found in 12 insects, and Lyme is rarely found in more than ticks.

When enlarged, two punctures on the skin appear as dark dots. They are not close. We would suggest this is closer to a modest spider's mouthparts than a tiny tick's. We commend this wise mother. A modest amount of attention like hers may prevent illness in months, years, or decades. The mother opted for a combination of herbal treatments to treat Bartonella.
