There is a debate over the ability to cure Lyme in 2-4 weeks with doxycycline or amoxicillin. Since my family and over thousands of my patients have an opinion of this debate, let us move on to my excerpt from points of use here.
IF YOU KILL 1000 LYME BACTERIA, THEIR FRAGMENTS ARE USUALLY NOT GONE IN 24 HOURS. THEY MAY LAST MONTHS INSIDE YOU.
The common position that Lyme disease can be cured in two weeks, followed by some having persistent ill feelings from dead bacteria, ignores another possibility.
MY OPINION:
THE HIGHLY SLOW GROWING FOUR FORMS OF LYME TAKE MUCH LONGER TO KILL THAN TWO WEEKS,
AND STEERE AND COLLEGES ARE QUITE RIGHT THAT VERY MISERABLE PARTICLES OR PEPTIDOGLYCANS ARE VERY IMPORTANT AND CAN TORMENT MONTHS.
1. Brian Fallon, MD, a psychiatrist, who is running the Tick Infection Program for Columbia, wrote an excellent doctor-oriented Lyme Disease book that mentioned “particles.” And he said some researchers thought their duration after a Lyme bacteria death was unknown, but maybe 2 months was a starting place. That is English according to the Webster’s Dictionary of Schaller.
Please do not be reactive and fuse two issues: the issue of short or long-term treatment for a cure has nothing to do with possible months of discomfort from dead caustic particles.
Indeed, in patients that are DNA positive for Lyme or Bartonella, there can also be die-off particles or related things that cause discomfort that last a very long time. Long lasting biofilm or persister forms can exist and need treatment, but if you trivialize the dead residue position you make mistakes. There are a number of die-off particles that can hurt you.
