When a woman reaches the end of her pregnancy she has huge levels of progesterone and estrogen. As she loses the placenta these two hormones fall abruptly. Research differs on the best way to approach this problem in women prone to the blues or even Major Depression.

We are proposing treatment with modest bio-identical progesterone, a low dose bio-identical estrogen patch and a serotonin anti-depressant medication if any signs of depression occur after the pregnancy.
