THE MUNCHAUSEN BY PROXY FAD KILLS AN INFANT

A SMALL CHILD DIES OF BIRTH DEFECTS.

HIS MOTHER DEMANDS CARE FOR HER DYING SON.

HOWEVER, SHE IS TREATED AS A "BAD" MOTHER.

SPECIFICALLY SHE IS DIAGNOSED AS A MUNCHAUSEN BY PROXY" MOTHER. MEANING, SHE JUST WANTS ATTENTION.

******

The inventor of this exploratory "diagnosis," Sir Roy Meadow, is discredited in the UK courts, and his cases found highly suspect. The uproar over this nonsense in England is titanic. And now this same nonsense is supposed to be advanced and progressive psychiatric care here in the USA? This is like following the Brits with a type of mental AIDS.

********

Philip Patrick died a horrifying death at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, TN because of a false MSBP diagnosis by a gastro physician. He knew the mother Julie Patrick less than 30 minutes, and had it the child's illnesses and the mother's personality all figured out! He called in a child protection worker, amazingly not a veteran in such a challenging case, but someone who had NEVER been involved in any MSBP case. Their actions cost Philip his life! The mother was exonerated, see below, but so what—her child is gone!

*****

Four-and-a-half years ago, doctors at Vanderbilt University Medical Center alerted state officials that the mother of a severely ill infant might be making him sick. The state took custody of Phillip Patrick, but a month later, in October 1996, he died.

Now Metro's medical examiner, Dr. Bruce Levy, has concluded there is no evidence of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a rare psychiatric disorder that causes a parent, usually the mother, to make a child sick to gain attention.

"I do not believe that Phillip Patrick's death represents Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy," Levy wrote in his review of the original autopsy report, written by another doctor. Instead, the 11-month-old Memphis boy's death resulted from multiple birth defects, "most notably those related to his gastrointestinal illness," he wrote.

The Profile of a Munchausen by Proxy Mother is Illogical Philosophical and Medical Trash

One of the hallmarks of a cult is that all evidence is explained in terms of the cult belief. You can say and do anything and it just shows the cult member that they are right. The grossly ignorant naive "evidence" of some accused of MSBP is beyond incompetent. It is just one more example of modern medicine's attempt to blame mothers for everything including medical signs or symptoms that do not fit their small minds and simplistic tests. It is another reason why physicians should learn real philosophy in college, so they can actually think and see simplistic circular reasoning.

I treat and help parents with treatment failure illues. We like someone who has been to 5-50 physicians before me, so I do not have to do all the basics.

So far, all of these children have had objective medical problems, and they get well after the poorly known cause or causes are found. Usually, the causes are not involved with the profits of large Pharmaceutical companies or their patents and devices, so since they control Western Medicine—big surprise! Money drives new knowledge and thought in medicine.
